Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Begins Next Week
EA and DICE have announced that the highly anticipated Battlefield 2042 beta will begin next week from Wednesday, October 6th.
When the beta begins, players will be able to experience Conquest on Orbital, which is said to be a “war-torn Rocket Launch site”. Players will also be able to pre-download the beta on Tuesday, October 5th.

The beta dates and times are as followed:
- Duration: October 5-10, 2021
- Oct 5: Downloads enabled for all players
- Oct 6-9: Early Access window (triggers Oct 6 at 8am UK)
- Oct 8-9: Open Availability (triggers Oct 8 at 8am UK)
- Oct 10, 8am UK: Sunset
Those that pre-order Battlefield 2042 or subscribe to EA Play, will be able to play the beta on October 6th. The beta will then become open for all on October 8th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
Those that play the beta (and the full game) on PC and new-gen consoles will be able to experience 128-player battles. Whereas on last-gen systems, it will be 64-player battles). Players will also be able to play as four unique specialists, such as:
“Boris, a Russian engineer who comes with a SG-36; Casper, a South African camouflage and long-ranged attacks expert; Falck, a skilled German medic who specializes in Support; and Mackay, a Canadian outdoorsman and nomad who is equipped with a Grapple Gun.”
