Big Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Update Now Live, Adds River Raids Mode

The latest big update is now live for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and it adds the highly anticipated River Raids mode.

River Raids will bring unique maps and locations to raid for precious and exclusive loot.  Each raid will bring its own unique challenges and encounters.  However unlike raids in the main campaign, when members of your crew are downed, if they are not revived fast enough they will temporarily leave the battlefield.

You’ll also be able to appoint and level-up your crew, as well as upgrading your customisable longship.  You will also be able to upgrade your base of operations such as the River Raid Dock and Jomsviking Hall.

The more you upgrade your new Jomsviking Hall, you’ll attract new and better recruits to your crew, including those that are higher ranked.

Once you have completed the first narrative arc in England, a new recruit will join your settlement by the name of Vagn, who will introduce you to the River Raids mode.

In the three new maps available as of now, you will be able to earn the Saint George Armour set and Great Sword.  There will also be three new abilities to acquire, two new Settlement buildings, as well as new longship and player cosmetics.

The latest content is all part of the continuation of season 1’s Yule Festival and the second season named Ostara will begin this coming March, which will bring its own events and rewards.

Ubisoft has also promised new information this spring on the upcoming first expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Wrath of the Druids.
