Following its return on the PS Store, Cyberpunk 2077 has recently received its latest big patch and for the most part, it seems to be running much better now. Far from perfect, but better.

However, that doesn’t stop the fact that both Sony and CDPR have advised against playing Cyberpunk 2077 on the base PS4. This is far from satisfactory in my opinion, especially for those that were sold on the concept that Cyberpunk 2077 would run to a satisfactory standard on PS4.

In an article from IGN, CDPR CEO Adam Kiciński spoke about the current state of Cyberpunk 2077 at WSE Innovation Day.

We have already reached a satisfactory level [of stability with Cyberpunk 2077]. We have also worked on the overall performance, and we are quite satisfied with that.” Said Kiciński.

Of course, we have also fixed bugs and glitches, and we will continue to do so. Over time, we will be introducing fixes to the general systems that players [have pointed out as needing improvement].” Continued the CEO.

I can’t speak from a current PS4 perspective, but at launch, that game was far from satisfactory, hence the removal from the PS Store. However, the game runs fine on the PS5, which is probably one of the reasons why it returned on the digital PlayStation storefront.

Despite its improvements, I’ve still encountered glitches and bugs while playing Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS5. Don’t get me wrong, when it works, I really enjoy this game. However, at this point, I might as well hold out for the native PS5 release later in the year.
