Control’s Alan Wake Inspired Expansion AWE Arrives This Month #StateOfPlay
At the State of Play event last night, we got our first proper look at the second expansion for the fantastic Control. The expansion entitled AWE revolves around one of my favourite horror games of all-time, Alan Wake.
In AWE (not to be confused with AEW), the Oldest House Bureau Director, Jesse Faden is drawn to the Altered World Events (AWE), which breaches dimensions between our world and others, which links the Universe of Alan Wake in an interesting way. Jesse will also explore the setting of Alan Wake, the town of Bright Falls.
To be honest, the trailer doesn’t give too much away, which I appreciate. But if you want a more detailed look at AWE, developers Remedy Entertainment’s Creative Director Sam Lake and Control Game Director, Mikael Kasurinen will be hosting a live stream next Thursday on August 13th at 5pm BST, which will feature the opening 15 minutes of the expansion.
The AWE expansion will be available for £11.99 or available at no extra cost with the Control Expansion Pass for £19.99 (when it’s not on offer). AWE will release for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 27th. You can read our review of the award-winning Control here.
