Dead Island 2 has suffered yet another delay, but never fear because all is going to be ok. I promise.

Dead Island 2 was first announced way back in 2014 at E3. Sadly, however, it has been delayed so many times, well, nearly a decade later and we’re still waiting.

Thankfully, Dead Island 2 was re-revealed during Gamescom 2022 with a glorious new trailer as well as a February 2023 release date. Unfortunately, that February release date is no more as the game has been pushed back again.

Fortunately, the delay is only by a further 12 weeks and to be fair, we’ve been waiting many years already for this game to arrive. So less than a few months won’t hurt.

The news of the delay was announced on the official Dead Island social media channels. “The irony of delaying Dead Island 2 is not lost on us, and we are as disappointed as you undoubtedly are,” read a tweet announcing the delay.

The delay is just 12 short weeks and development is on the final straight now; we’re going to take the time we need to make sure we can launch a game we’re proud to launch. For those of you who’ve been waiting for years, thank you for hanging in there with us.

At the end of the game, judging by the Gamescom trailers, Dead Island 2 was looking good already, so if it needs a little more polish to make the game even better, then that’s ok in my book.

There is some good news, and that’s because in December there’ll be a Dead Island 2 showcase event which will reveal a new trailer, gameplay and some bloodthirsty details. Developers Dambuster Studios will be hosting the event on December 6th via the official YouTube, Twitch and website.

Are you disappointed with the latest delay? Let us know across our social media channels. Dead Island 2 will now release on April 28th, 2023 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
