Diablo 4 – first expansion announced arrives 2024

The Diablo franchise is one of the most popular RPG franchises of all time for better or worse, and this year we saw the release of its fourth numbered entry.

At BlizzCon 2023 over the weekend, the first major expansion for Diablo IV was announced with Vessel of Hatred. However, we’re going to be in for a long wait, because it arrives on PC and consoles towards the end of 2024. The expansion will take players back to Nahantu, a setting from Diablo II which was released in 2000.

There will be no salvation in the light.

Vessel of Hatred will take place after the events of the main game and is said to “continue the dark tale that began in Diablo as we learn the fate of the Prime Evil Mephisto and his demonic plans for Sanctuary”. The expansion will also bring a new playable class and enemies.

Diablo IV is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
