Double Dragon Gaiden is out now and it’s great fun
The Double Dragon series is one of the most iconic beat-em-ups of its genre since it first arrived in arcades way back in 1987.
Since that time we’ve had many sequels and reboots for better or worse. However, the series is now back with Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons.
Developed by Secret Base and published by Modus Games, Double Dragon Gaiden is easy to pick up, play and hard to put down. Perhaps not too dissimilar to the fantastic Streets of Rage 4. Presented in wonderful pixel art, this latest Double Dragon entry is easy on the eye too.
I’ve only spent a short time with the game, and I can honestly say that it’s a lot of fun, especially if you find a co-op partner, but it’s also a blast playing on your lonesome too. It’s also worth mentioning that online co-op will arrive later via an update, so it’s good old couch co-op for now.
Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons is out now for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. What’s more, it also has a launch promotion saving 10% off its RRP on select platforms.
