Dragon Age 4 In “Advanced Stage” and Mass Effect In ‘Prototype’ Stage
In a recent BioWare blog post, we got development updates on the next Dragon Age and Mass Effect.
“For the next Dragon Age, we are right in the middle of production, which is a great feeling,” wrote BioWare general Manager, Gary McKay.

“Our blueprint was completed last year, so we’re now focused on building out our vision: creating amazing environments, deep characters, strong gameplay, impactful writing, emotional cinematics – and much more,” said McKay. “The blueprint for the game is well understood and the team is focused.”
“There’s always someone bent on breaking the world.”

It seems that the next Dragon Age is at a much-advanced stage to the next Mass Effect. It is also suggested that Mass Effect is still at the “prototyping” stage.
“The team, led by Mike Gamble, is made up of a team of veteran developers as well as some new, really talented people,” added McKay.
“They are all actively prototyping new ideas and experiences. AAA next-gen games take a long time to make – and we know our fans may want them sooner. But our Number One priority needs to be quality, and that simply takes time to get it right.”

Personally, the next Dragon Age is at least a year away and perhaps another two years for Mass Effect, at least. But as long as they both release in a good state, then I’ll be happy.
