Finally, we’ve not only got to see some new gameplay for Dying Light 2, but we’ve also got a brand-new release date.

Dying Light 2 has had a seemingly troubled development. Delays literally lasting at least a couple of years and we went a long time without really learning anything all that new.

Thankfully the developers at Techland seem to be going all-in with this release date announcement and new gameplay reveal, so hopefully the new release date will be set in stone.

Firstly, let’s talk about the new gameplay. The story of Dying Light 2 is set around 15 years after the events of the first gameplay. Not only has society morphed into a ravage civilisation, but the zombies of this new world have also had well over a decade to evolve.

The world of Dying Light 2 is more dangerous than ever before. However, the world is denser than the original yet more deadly than ever before. The campaign will also be shaped by the decisions that you make, and the risk-reward of day and night will return. Dying Light 2 will also be playable in co-op with up to three other friends.

Oh, in all the excitement I nearly forgot to mention that Dying Light 2 now also has a sub name. The full title of this highly anticipated sequel is Dying Light 2: Stay Human. This also reminds me, in the gameplay trailer they’ll also be an emphasis on ‘staying human’, so I can’t wait to learn more of that mechanic in the months to come.

So, when will this new zombie-fest release, well Dying Light 2: Stay Human will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on December 7th this year.

If that wasn’t enough Dying Light goodness for you, then we also have a release of a Collector’s Edition and a Dying Light Platinum Edition.

The Collector’s Edition will come with a stunning statue fitted with a UV light that captures the essence of the game. It also comes with a copy of the game, an art book, a UV flashlight and UV stickers, a map of the city, and a steelbook case all packaged in a snazzy box.

The Collector’s Edition will also come with a bundle of DLC, which is also included in the Digital Deluxe Edition. The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with a Legendary skin pack, exclusive weapon charms, wallpapers, a digital comic, soundtrack, an art book, as well as the game’s first story DLC.

You can also pick up a physical Deluxe Edition which includes all the same DLC as the digital version, but also comes with a steelbook case.

Additionally, they’ll also be a digital Ultimate Edition which includes all the above DLC as well as a 2-hour Night XP Boost, some crafting items, and the second story DLC.

All pre-orders of the game, no matter the version, will also come with the exclusive Reload Pack DLC. The pre-order DLC includes a unique outfit, weapon, and paraglider skins. The aforementioned Dying Light: Platinum Edition which is available digitally includes the original game and all previously released DLC, and updates.
