Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that Techland’s Dying Light has become the fastest selling game in January this year.  Obviously that landmark isn’t going to replicate over here in Europe, as the physical discs are still not available on our shores as of yet.

While we can purchase the game for the more expensive digital version, Dying Light won’t be hitting EU retail stores until February 27th.  Also, Dying Light has also become the fastest selling new IP for the survival horror genre to date (again I assume in the US), which is possibly even more impressive. So we at Push-Start would like to congratulate Warner and Techland for hitting these impressive sales figures.

Below are some words of thanks from the game director Adrian Ciszewski and some impressive stats since Dying Lights launch.  Recently we gave Dying Light a review score of 8.3, you can find out more here.

”We’re extremely humbled and motivated by how enthusiastic players have been about Dying Light. Especially since the game was out in January for only five days and is yet to be released in other regions” – says Adrian Ciszewski, Game Director. “But we don’t want stop there. We’re working hard to deliver more exciting content for Dying Light, including a special Hard Mode, so we can keep our fans entertained for a very long time.”

Techland previously confirmed that more than 1.2 million unique players played the game in the first five days since its release according to server data. As a part of the long-term support for Dying Light, Techland announced a series of free content updates that will include a new difficulty mode, bonus character outfits, and much more. Furthermore, Techland opened a discussion board for players where they can offer suggestions for the upcoming modding tools for the game.
