FromSoftware is one of the most respected video game developers in the industry creating classics such as Dark Souls, Demon’s Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and more.

The other most recent release from the studio is Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon which had its new PvP multiplayer on the way. The other is of course Elden Ring. Back in February 2023, almost a year to the date when the main game had been released, FromSoftware announced the expansion to Elden Ring, Shadow of the Erdtree.

At this time FromSoftware nor its publisher Bandai Namco has announced a release date for Shadow of the Erdtree. We’ve still not been treated to a release date. However, that might be about to change if a recent leak is to be believed.

As spotted by a Reddit user ChiefLeef22, a post that had been taken down was shared in the forum that revealed a collaboration with Bandai Namco and retailer DataBliza for a new Elden Ring-themed “ESWAP II Pro Elden Ring Limited Edition” controller for Xbox. The listing stated that the controller will be available in February 2024, so it makes sense for the expansion to be released in the same month, which would also be the second anniversary of Elden Ring.

Hopefully, now that the cat is out of the proverbial bag, Bandai Namco and Thrustmaster will make an official announcement soon. Elden Ring is out now for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
