Bethesda has released a teaser trailer for the first add-on content for The Evil Within, with The Assignment.  While no exact release date was given, at the end of the teaser trailer it reveals that The Assignment will release this March i.e. next month.

The Assignment will follow the events surrounding Detective Castellanos’ partner Juli Kidman and in the teaser trailer, Julie is hiding in a locker from a creature.  If you own The Evil Within art book, you may recognise the creature, which looks a lot like something that is called Light Man or Light Woman, which has ties to the light house of Beacon Mental Hospital.  The design of this creature was an early idea before going for The Keeper, so it seems like this Big Sister (Bioshock 2) looking creature may be getting its moment in the spotlight after all.

On the Bethesda Blog they say that they are putting “the final wraps on our trailer for The Evil Within’s first add-on” and to “Stay tuned for updates!” So hopefully we’ll get an exact release date very soon.

The Assignment will then be followed by two further add-on packs to release this year, with The Consequence (which continues on with Julie Kidman’s story), before the final add-on pack will have The Keeper aka Boxhead as a playable character, that one will be particularly interesting to see how his story goes.  You can check out the new teaser trailer below.
