FIFA 23 is collaborating with Marvel, seriously
EA Sports has announced a collaboration with Marvel for the upcoming FIFA 23. Like seriously, I kid you not.
βBlurring the lines of Comic Culture and Football Fandom with the legendary artists at Marvel, FIFA 23 Ultimate Team Heroes will be illustrated, and inspired by Marvel Super Heroes to celebrate awe-inspiring moments of their careers,β reads the press release.

The collaboration will re-imagine popular footballers of yesteryear as Marvel-inspired FIFA World Cup FUT Heroes. So far, the re-imagined footballers include Yaya TourΓ©, Ricardo Carvalho, Park Ji-Sung, Claudio Marchisio and Landon Donovan.
However, a new batch of βSuper Heroesβ has been announced by EA, so Iβm going to publish this article now as I refuse to keep up with the wave of continues reveals. The above players have also been joined by Diego Forlan, Lucio, Rafael Marquez and Javier Mascherano.
The collaboration will extend beyond player-themed heroes, including cosmetic items such as tifos, kits, balls, and more. Furthermore, those who pre-order FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition by August 21st will receive a limited-time FIFA World Cup Hero. Which sounds like a FUT loan player to me.
Sadly, as these Marvel-themed players are for FIFA Ultimate Team, it means that they will be tied to loot boxes. This is a shame because these players could have been fun if readily available for exhibition matches.
FIFA 23 will be the last game in the series to carry the βFIFAβ name before being rebranded to EA Sports FC. FIFA 23 will be released for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Google Stadia on September 30th or September 27th for those that pick up the Ultimate Edition.
