Update 12/02/15:  Techland and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that some free content is on its way to Dying Light.  Techland aim to release the free content by the start of March (hopefully sooner) and it will add a new Hard mode to the game.  They aim to also release a number of gameplay changes and free outfits.  Below are the details as to what the new Hard mode will bring to the table.

”A few gamers have already finished Dying Light and are asking for more. So we’re going to give our community a new challenge that will put everything they learnt in the game to the test. Hard Mode is exactly that. We’re aiming to have it out around the start of March, if not sooner. Depends on how brutal we wanna make this on people” – Tymon Smektała, Producer.

Hard Mode will feature various changes to the gameplay including:

  • Ramped up nighttime difficulty
  • Deadlier and more vicious foes
  • Increased need for stealth and silence
  • Scarce resources and supplies
  • … and plenty of other additions

The first content update will also bring many improvements to the gameplay and a number of new character outfits. The update will be available on all platforms in the near future.

Original Story 10/02/15: Techland has announced that the first add-on content will release today for Dying Light.  The first pack Cruise & Cargo will launch today for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 in North America, then tomorrow for Europe and Australia.  Cruise & Cargo will grant players with two extra missions, giving access to new locations.  Then the following two DLC packs will arrive in March with the Ultimate Survivor Bundle and then May for The Bozak Horde.

Developers Techland have also promised to support Dying Light in the coming months with DLC, some of which content will be free.  The games producer Adrian Ciszewski said that “The goal is to let players enjoy the game well after release with such drops and other free initiatives which are already in the works and will be announced very soon.”

All the forthcoming DLC will be included in the Dying Light season pass, priced at £15.99/€19.99/$19.99 and of course available for individual purchase.

  • Ultimate Survivor Bundle (March) – Players will receive seven unique in-game items that will bring fighting zombies to a whole new level. Grab three special outfits and four blueprints for over-the-top weapons to make your adventure in the quarantine zone even more fun.
  • The Bozak Horde (May) – The final Season Pass drop will deliver a new map and gameplay, playable in single-player and co-op. Go inside the Harran Stadium and test your combat know-how against relentless hordes of the Infected.
