It’s been a patient wait for fans of the Indiana Jones movies to be greeted with the first gameplay from the Xbox exclusive published by Bethesda Softworks.

Alas, here we are, three years following its initial announcement in January 2021, the first gameplay is here for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Developed by Wolfenstein studio MachineGames in collaboration with LucasfilmGames, Indian Jones and the Great Circle will be set between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.

It will be played in a first-person perspective so that players can feel closer to the role of portraying Indiana Jones, says the developers. However, some moments will be switched to a third-person perspective such as when climbing.

While the game does a wonderful job capturing the likeness of Harrison Ford, the actor voicing the iconic character will be Troy Baker, who of course plays Joel in The Last of Us, as well as many other video game roles. “Your journeys will take you from the hallowed halls of the Vatican and the arid deserts of Egypt to the lush and sunken temples of Sukhothai and the frigid peaks of the Himalayas,” reads the synopsis.

No exact release date was given for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle but we do know that it will be released late this year on PC and Xbox Series X|S. It will also launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.
