We got our first proper look at the rebooted Forza Motorsport at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, and it did not disappoint.

For starters, the visuals looked amazing. I can’t say much in terms of gameplay, because of course I never got to play it, due to me sitting at home watching the show like everyone else. That being said, anyone that is familiar with the Forza series will likely have lofty expectations in that respect.

During the gameplay reveal we got to see and learn about how the day/night cycle will impact the race, as well as how dynamic weather will come into play. We were also treated to information on how deep that damage mechanics will have an impact during a race.

Controversy aside, at its core, Gran Turismo 7 is a fine racer to play. That being said, it always bugs me how damage is at a minimum, no matter how heavy the crash. So, this is one small aspect that Forza Motorsport might have over the Sony franchise. It will also be interesting to see how impactful the weather, as well as the day/night cycle, really is.

Hopefully, we’ll learn more in the coming months, not only about how the game will play but also about the modes that the reboot will have to offer. One thing is for sure, the Forza Motorsport was impressive, and it stands to leave GT7 in its rear mirror.

Forza Motorsport will release for PC and Xbox Series X|S in spring 2023. Are you looking forward to this reboot? Let us know across our social media channels.
