Whilst I liked the look of Godfall with its high-fantasy setting mixed with technological aesthetics, I wasn’t too sure on exactly what the game was and how it would be played. Luckily, with the latest gameplay overview trailer, the developers seem to have answered some vital questions which makes the game a lot more appealing.

From the looks of it, Godfall is an action RPG through and through with different weapon styles serving a different purpose. the focus of this video was on dual blades and a long sword. Dual Blades looks more tailored to one on one encounters with speed being its main focus, whilst the long sword seems to lean a bit more towards crowd controlling aspects.

Each weapon type has its own unique ability as well, such as Inner Focus for the Dual Blades, a special ability that buffs attack damage for a brief duration. The shield was also shown, which has its own unique set of properties that reward synergy and button timing. The developers have also made clear that the game rewards offensive and aggressive gameplay which is a welcome change from more defense-oriented Arpgs.

The developers have gone in-depth to really talk about how the game controls as well, giving a good indication of how the game will feel once it is out. So far, it definitely sounds fun to play with customizable armor and weapon types that can help you tailor to your playstyle.

The loot aspect has yet to be shown with the developers promising more word on that down the line, but the best thing about the game is that it will be content complete on launch and will not have any microtransactions whatsoever, giving me yet another reason to get the game on launch this Holiday Season for the PS5 and PC.
