Gran Turismo 7 is being considered for a PC release and could be one of the next PlayStation exclusives jumping platforms.

Over the weekend the Gran Turismo World Finals took place in Monaco, France. What’s more, Gran Turismo creator and CEO of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi was in attendance.

Thankfully, the team at GTPlanet was also in attendance and they asked Yamauchi if Gran Turismo 7 could one day get a PC release. When asked about the possibility, Yamauchi replied: “Yes, I do think so.

However, Yamauchi also implied that there might be some technical difficulties porting GT7 from PlayStation to PC.

Gran Turismo is a very finely tuned title,” explained Yamauchi-san. “There are not many platforms which could run the game in 4K/60p natively, so one way we make that possible is to narrow down the platform. It’s not a very easy subject, but of course, we are looking into it and considering it.

To be fair, I’m no expert, but I’m sure other PlayStation to PC ports including God of War (2018), Horizon Zero Dawn and Marvel’s Spider-Man to name a few may have also shared similar challenges. So, I wouldn’t rule out GT7 coming to PC.

If Gran Turismo 7 or any following release comes to PC, it will be the first time the series has been on another platform in the series’ entire 25-year history.

In my review of Gran Turismo 7, I said: “GT7 is full of charm and charisma that only this series could hold. Gran Turismo 7 is simply a sublime experience and is as close to racing perfection as it’s going to get.” However, that was before microtransactions were implemented and progression was tweaked post-launch.
