Hellblade 2 Will Make The First Game Look Like An Indie, Says Ninja Theory

Ninja Theory co-founder Tameem Antoniades has claimed that Hellblade 2 will make the first game look like an indie.

Antoniades was speaking to NME, where he shared his excitement for the upcoming Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.

2The goal with Hellblade 2 isn’t to perfect it, but to create an experience that feels more believable and more refined,” said Antoniades. “It’s ambition in terms of scale is bigger. I think Hellblade 2 will make Hellblade look like an indie game.”

Not that there’s anything wrong with indie games, as many of them look amazing. Certainly, some look better than “AAA” titles. Technically, the first Hellblade game was an indie, as it was published and developed by Ninja Theory. However, I get what Antoniades is trying to say. In a nutshell, the Hellblade sequel will blow the original out of the water.

In my review of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, I said: “Its tale is both haunting and beautifully told. You’ll be rooting for Senua as soon as you feel her torment. You’ll feel a part of her story like you’re the one that’s going to ensure you’ll see her through until the end.“
