That Inside Xbox presentation that was supposed to show some proper gameplay for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla was a complete letdown, to say the least.  Well, that’s unless you count the few seconds (at best) of gameplay that they gave us a glimpse of.  Thankfully however at yesterday’s Ubisoft Forward event, we got to see plenty of actual gameplay for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

To begin with, we got a 6 minute overview trailer, which gave us a good look at the combat, interactions and dialogue with NPC’s, the settlement building feature, raiding, sailing and more.  Then as an added bonus after the Ubisoft Forward event had finished, we got a further 30 minutes worth of in-depth gameplay goodness.

For me personally, while Valhalla does look at times like an AC: Odyssey re-skin, I did appreciate how the raiding and settlement building features seem to work.  It was also mentioned that while there will be less weapons in the world, there will be more of an emphasis on level-up your favourite weapons, so I’m hoping as a whole, this might mean less clutter and filler in the world.

We were also treated to some snazzy new screenshots and art work, and confirmation that the leaked release date was real.  Ubisoft also re-confirmed those that purchase the current-gen version of AC: Valhalla will get a free next-gen upgrade.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will release for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Google Stadia on November 17th, it will then also be a launch title for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
