Hideo Kojima has seemingly responded to Norman Reedus accidentally revealing that Death Stranding 2 is in development.

In case you didn’t know, during an interview with Leo Edit last week, The Walking Dead star, Norman Reedus apparently revealed that a Death Stranding sequel is currently in production. Oopsie!

Okay, so you got the book going on, you’ve got the final season coming out, then the spinoff, and you’re filming Death Stranding, the video game,” blabbed Reedus.

“We just started the second one [Death Stranding]. It took me maybe two or three years to finish all the Mocap sessions and everything.” He continued: “It takes a lot of work. And then the game came out, and it just won all these awards, and it was a huge thing, so we just started part two of that.

So, how did Kojima respond to Reedus’ mishap? Well, the developer responded with his typical cryptic, but not so cryptic humour.

Within a few photos shared on his personal Twitter page was one of Reedus on his knees with Kojima standing behind the actor wielding a Lucille baseball bat. This is obviously a reference to that infamous scene featuring Negan and his unfortunate victims from season 10 of The Walking Dead.

Hopefully, Reedus’ mishap has messed with any potential reveal plans, but at worst, at least fans of Death Stranding now know that a sequel is likely.

In my review of Death Stranding, I said: “You may very well find that you hate it, but if not, this could very well be your Game of the Year, and with a game as “connected”  and polarising as Death Stranding, it will no doubt keep us talking, theorising and speculating for years to come, and that is truly something spectacular.
