There is arguably no sci-fi series hotter than Star Wars and it’s been that way since the release of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope in 1977.

Since that time the Star Wars franchise has crossed boundaries to video games, TV series, movies, comics, novels, toys and much more. One of the most recent success stories of the Star Wars franchise is the Disney Plus series, The Mandalorian. That being said, the most recent season three failed to live up to my expectations. Still, I can never get enough of Din Djarin and Din Grogu.

With that in mind, Insider Gaming reports that Titanfall 2 and Stars Wars Jedi: Survivor developer Respawn Entertainment is secretly working on a Mandalorian game set around the time of A New Hope. Sadly, for fans of the Disney Plus series, it will not be based on the adventures of Djarin and Grogu.

I’m fine with this game being separate from the Disney Plus series, though I’d still like to see a connection. By not having this game based on that series, it could allow players to create their own Mandalorian, which sounds awesome to me. Assuming that is what the game will be.

It’s claimed that the title will be played in a first-person perspective and the players will have access to the iconic Mandalorian jetpack which can be aimed in various directions as well as being used to fast dash. It’s also been suggested that this fast-paced game will also equip you with a wrist rocket, grappling hook and an augmented visor.

At this time, we should take the unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, hopefully, we’ll learn more about the reported game this year. It’s also probably safe to assume that it will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
