Here we go again, we’ve got some new Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster reports, in regards to its official title and release window.

According to VentureBeat, the official name of the remastered collection is Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, which is much better than “Remastered Trilogy” in my humble opinion.  It was reported earlier in September that this Legendary Edition was set to be announced in October, with it releasing later that month, however, the Coronavirus put a stop to those plans.

As I guessed in the early September news article, the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition has been pushed back to early 2021.  Other then the global pandemic, another main reason as to why this (unannounced) collection is being delayed, is due to issues remastering the original Mass Effect.  Naturally, the second and third games in the series not only look greater visually, but they also have more of a refined gameplay experience.  However, if you play the original game today, it’s quite noticeable that it hasn’t aged as well as its sequels, so EA and BioWare aims to bring the original game up to par with its sequels in terms of visuals and gameplay, which is no easy task.

As with most remasters, it is expected that the multiplayer in Mass Effect 3 will have its waved-based mode ditched, which is a shame, as it was quite fun.  But it does cost extra money to keep those multiplayer servers running, even with that micro-transaction money.

So there we have it, it looks like we have a confirmed title for the remasters and a release window is getting more validity.  Hopefully, we still might at least get an announcement for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition this October and if we do, we’ll update you right away.
