It’s been reported that Microsoft could withdraw Activision video games from the UK.

As reported by Eurogamer (via Bloomberg), as a result of the UK market regulator (CMA) rejecting Microsoft’s proposed $68.7 billion takeover of Activision Blizzard, it seems that extreme measures could be taken.

Of course, this extreme scenario can only happen if Microsoft acquires Activision Blizzard and the US also shares similar reservations to the UK. It’s reported that Microsoft president Brad Smith is set for crunch talks with UK Chancellor Jeremy Hunt in the hope of a resolution being made.

I’d be shocked if it came to the point that Activision products were pulled from the UK, but if it does, not only will it be disappointing news for gamers, but it will also no doubt impact Activision employees based in the UK. There are certainly a lot of ‘What if ?s’ right now, but hopefully some deal can be agreed because this whole process has dragged on for far too long.
