Thanks to an article from IGN we have three new screenshots for Resident Evil Village as well as some added details.

Firstly the three new screenshots give us a glimpse of a new enemy that wields a large bloody hammer.  I believe that we’ve seen this hammer in glimpses during previous trailers but this is the first time that we’ve seen this enemy type in full.

This particular enemy kinda reminds me of the Executioner from Resident Evil 5, apart from he looks like grizzly Yeti having a bad hair day.

The other two screenshots show more of the werewolf type creature that we’ve seen previously as well as a new glimpse of what looks like a shot of a ruined castle.

While gameplay details were brief, RE Village producer Peter Fabiano did reveal that the latest instalment of this beloved survival horror series will be a combination of elements from previous games as well as introducing some new surprises too.

Fabiano told IGN: “We’re really excited for fans to experience Resident Evil Village when it comes out in 2021. We feel it’s an accumulation of all the best elements of Resident Evil games from the past 25 years, with everything fans love about action-infused survival horror plus new surprises. Of course, there are plenty of puzzles to solve and mysteries to unfold.

While we don’t have a release date at this time, we do know that Resident Evil Village will release for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime in 2021.
