As the long awaited System Shock remake approaches its release year of 2022, Nightdive Studios have announced that they are teaming up with publisher Prime Matter.

Prime Matter, as a division of Koch Media and founded this year, have hand their hands in only a few other titles such as King’s Bounty II and Wasteland 3, however Stephen Kick, CEO of Nightdive Studios, has released a positive comment on the partnership.

“We’re excited to partner with Prime Matter to achieve that goal and see this as an important step in the growth of Nightdive Studios. It will allow us to offer System Shock to fans all over the world, both in digital and physical goods formats, as well as fully honour our commitments to our fans and, in particular, to our thousands of supporters on Kickstarter, without whom this game would have never been possible.”

Riveting stuff, right? But at least as far as exciting news goes, the long awaited remake is finally approaching a release. As I’ve covered this title and the System Shock 3 game for a few years now, the seemingly endless delays and queries about whether these games are actually going to release has become quite tiresome.

So bring on 2022 and hopefully a worthwhile remake of this classic sci-fi adventure. The game is planned for release on PC and can be pre-ordered already on Steam, GOG and Epic Game store.
