PES 2021 Season Update Releases this September for £25

Comments Off on PES 2021 Season Update Releases this September for £25

Earlier in the week Konami announced that PES 2021 would not be getting a full release, instead it will arrive in form of an update to PES 2020 with the Season Update, which will update teams with the latest players, stats, club data and more, as well as keeping the UEFA Euro 2020 content, which also means that our Master League and MyClub progression will continue.

Personally I welcome this approach and I wish more sports games used this method, though development time and the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed Konami into this decision, otherwise we’d probably be getting a proper PES 2021 release at retail.  However, we will get PES 2022 next year, which will move away from Konami’s in-house Fox Engine and instead will use the next-gen Unreal 4 Engine for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Following the PES 2021 Season Update, Konami has announced that the update will release on September 15th and will have a price of £24.99.  There will also be special club editions which come in at £29.99 which features club specific content such as squads, exclusive kits, branded menus and more.  Returning players who have played either the full eFootball PES 2020 or eFootball PES 2020 Lite will also receive a 20% discount by pre-ordering the Season Update, which will bring the price down to £19.99/£23.99 depending on which version you pick-up.

The Club Editions will also come with Iconic Moment Series players for the specific club editions, which are kind of like better versions of the legend players that feature in the game, which have an added stat boost when they’re playing for the team they represent.  The teams featured in the Club Editions of PES 2021 (Season Update) are FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester United.

Last week, Konami also announced via the in-game PES 2020 message board that returning players who purchase the Season Update will receive a “Veteran’s Bonus”, which will reward players based upon the amount of online Matchday games they’ve played and how many legend players they’ve acquired, well now Konami have detailed the reward tiers.

You will get rewards from one reward tier from each of the two categories, based upon legend players own and online Matchday games played, so you will get one group of Special Agents from Legends owned and another from matches played.  The reward tiers are as followed:

Iconic Moment Series Special Agents (receive Special Agents depending on how many Legends you own in MyClub):

  • 1 to 3 players = x1 Iconic Moment Series Special Agent
  • 4 to 6 players = x2 Iconic Moment Series Special Agents
  • 7 to 9 players = x3 Iconic Moment Series Special Agents
  • 10 to 12 players = x4 Iconic Moment Series Special Agents
  • 13+ players = x5 Iconic Moment Series Special Agents

Iconic Moment Series Special Agents bonus based upon the number of Matchday mode games played:

  • 5 to 29 matches = x1 Iconic Moment Series Special Agent
  • 30 to 99 matches = x2 Iconic Moment Series Special Agents
  • 100+ matches = x3 Iconic Moment Series Special Agents

So there you have it, PES 2021 Season Update will release for PES 2020 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on September 15th.  Will you be picking up this update/DLC?  Let us know across our social media channels.
