Play Payday 3 for free next week, here’s how!
We all love to play a new and upcoming video game before it’s released to the general public, right? If so, then you’re in luck.
The Payday series is a heist co-op first-person shooter in which coherent teamwork is of the utmost importance. The last entry in the series was Payday 2 in 2013 (not including ports) and while it was somewhat of a buggy experience if memory serves me correctly, it was still a fun game nonetheless.
So here we are 10 years later and developers Overkill Software and Starbreeze Studios will be looking to improve on the previous formula in every way with Payday 3. So in order to ensure that the game runs as smoothly as possible come launch, Payday 3 will be getting a closed beta and you have the opportunity to take part.
The closed beta will only be available for PC (via Steam) and Xbox Series X|S via the Insider Program. Sadly at this time, there is no mention of PlayStation participation. The closed beta will take place between 2 August to 7 August 2023.
The PAYDAY 3 closed beta includes:
- Play as the original gang: ‘Dallas, Hoxton, Chains and Wolf’. The iconic clown-masked characters that made the PAYDAY franchise infamous are all playable, each with its own unique skill set.
- ‘No Rest For The Wicked’, a classic heist, gives players the opportunity to relieve a small bank of the cash cluttering up their vault. Go stealthily without anyone noticing how the cash evaporated or go loud and create cinematic chaos in an NYC robbery that’s worthy of the silver screen.
- All difficulties will be playable, the level cap is Infamy Level 22 and Weapon Level Progression is at 8.

Payday 3 will be released on 21 September 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will also launch on Xbox Game Pass.
