In what is one of the worst kept secrets in modern video game history, BioWare has finally announced the Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

The original trilogy have been rumoured to get the remaster treatment for what seems for years now, so it’s great that the cat is officially out of the bag.

The Mass Effect Legendary Edition will feature the original trilogy in the series all remastered with new textures, shaders, models, effects and brand new “technical features”.

In a blog post, BioWare chief Casey Hudson said that it is the studios intent to “modernise” all three games in their original forms with added improved framerates and resolutions up-to 4K.

The Mass Effect Legendary Edition will also include all single player DLC, including “weapons, armours and packs” and will release Spring 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

However that is not all because BioWare confirmed that the Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be optimised with exclusive enhancements for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X with details promised to be detailed in the new year.

BioWare also confirmed that a brand new Mass Effect game in this series is currently in development.
