The Ada Wong voice actress in the Resident Evil 4 remake has deactivated her Instagram account due to online abuse.

Previously Ada was voiced by Jolene Anderson in the 2019 Resident Evil 2 remake. However, she has been replaced by Lily Gao in the RE4 remake. Lily Gao also played Ada in the movie, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.

To be honest, I prefer the voice actress from the RE2 remake, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t like her performance in RE4. At the end of the day, it’s just a different way of delivering a performance.

As reported by Push Square, Gao initially deactivated comments on her Instagram, before deactivating her account entirely. “Fans” claiming that she ruined RE4 were just the tip of the iceberg.

Fair enough that some people might not enjoy her performance, but to harass someone with abuse is never on. It’s also important to remember to be kind and not to be a dick.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is out now for PC, PlayStation and Xbox Series X|S.
