Capcom has confirmed that the Resident Evil 4 remake will not only be keeping the infamous island, but it will be even bigger.

Depending on who you ask, some might enjoy the island section and some might dislike it. From what I can tell, those that don’t enjoy this section might think that it negatively impacts the pacing of the story.

Personally, I get why some may feel this way. In my opinion, at least in terms of level design, it’s not the prettiest of sections. Plus, at times it does feel like the island was implemented to stretch out the game.

However, in my opinion, the island more than earns its place in the game and provides some of its most iconic moments. Now, I will be going into spoilers here, so you have been warned. That being said, the original RE4 was released 17 years ago at the time of writing.

Ok, here are the spoilers. Whether you enjoyed the island, it provided some awesome moments such as the Regenerator and Iron Maiden enemies. This particular sniffling enemy is one of the creepiest in the entire series.

What’s more, the island also provided the Krauser and U-3 boss encounters. For those that hope to see side-missions Separate Ways and Assignment Ada, the latter of which was based on the island. Furthermore, even sections of Separate Ways are also featured on the island.

So whether you like the island or not, without it, the OG and its remake would be less of a game and would lack some awesome moments.

Are you happy to learn that the island in RE4 will return bigger and better? Let us know across our social media channels. The Resident Evil 4 remake will be released on March 24th, for PC, PlayStation and Xbox Series X|S.
