Finally, after months of speculation, the Separate Ways DLC for the Resident Evil 4 remake has been confirmed.

During the recent PlayStation’s State of Play event, we were treated to not only a gameplay trailer for Separate Ways but also its release date and it arrives as early as next week. The price for the Separate Ways DLC, at least in the US dollar is $9.99, so expected the UK price to be around that ballpark.

“Separate Ways tells the story of Ada Wong and her parallel journey through the events of Resident Evil 4, filling in unanswered questions from the main story,” reads the description of the DLC. “The full story will be revealed as you view both sides of events from both Ada and Leon’s viewpoints. Before Leon S. Kennedy had even set foot in that cursed village, she was there. Her mission? The retrieval of the cult’s darkest secret—the Amber.”

What’s more, we also learned that Ada Wong and Albert Wesker are going to The Mercenaries mode for free as playable characters. Capcom reminds us to ensure that The Mercenaries free DLC is already downloaded to your PC or console via the relevant digital store.

Oh, and we learned that the free Resident Evil 4 VR DLC for PS VR2 will be arriving this winter. However, both The Mercenaries and Separate Ways are not compatible with PS VR2.

In my review of the Resident Evil 4 remake, I said it’s: “not only a redefined horror, but it’s a remake that has once more asserted itself into the Mount Rushmore of video games. Yet again, Capcom has created one of the best games ever. Kudos Capcom, Kudos.”

Separate Ways and the free The Mercenaries update will be arriving in Resident Evil 4 on Thursday, 21 September. Resident Evil 4 is out now for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
