During the Resident Evil Showcase, it was announced that Resident Evil Village is getting a 60-minute playable demo and it’s available right now.

Furthermore, we were also treated to a new gameplay trailer which featured Rose talking to a man at a park, which presumably leads her back to the village. It is also explained that 16-year-old Rose returns back to the village and enters the World of Consciousness and is haunted by her nightmares.

The developers also spoke a little about why Chris Redfield, Heisenberg and Lady Dimitrescu are playable characters in The Mercenaries. The trio are known as “Lords” because they have special abilities that the normal Ethan in Mercs does not.

The devs also revealed a few reasons why the Winters Expansion has a third-person mode. Firstly, to ease players that might be too scared to play this game. Each to their own, I guess. Also, it helps those that suffer from first-person perspective motion sickness and simply offers a new way to experience Village.

The developers revealed that even in third-person mode, you still won’t be able to see Ethan’s face. Even if you rotate the camera, Ethan will look away.

Oh yes, Resident Evil Re:Verse also arrives this week. However, before it does, there will be an early access test. Re:Verse has dropped its cel shade visuals and will be crossplay.

The early access started on Monday, October 24th until Wednesday, October 26th. As this multiplayer mode was supposed to launch at around the same time as RE Village, you will need a copy of Village to play it.

Re:Verse will also have new maps and playable characters that weren’t present in the beta last year. We will be able to play various versions of Chris Redfield, as well as his Mercs from Village. A Lycan from Village will also be a playable enemy creature.

Capcom has also detailed a content roadmap which will launch new content over a series of updates.

Re:Verse launches with 6 survivors, 5 creatures, 2 levels, as well as the first Challenge Mission and 30 levels of the Battle Pass. Then a series of updates will follow:

  • Update 1: adds a new survivor, stage, 8 costumes, Challenge Mission 2 and another 30 levels for the Battle Pass.
  • Update 2: adds a survivor, 2 costumes, and Challenge Mission 3.
  • Update 3: adds a survivor, a creature, 7 costumes, Challenge Mission 4 and another 30 levels for the Battle Pass.

Are you looking forward to the Winters Expansion content? Let us know across our social media channels. The content will be released this month on October 28th.
