Resident Evil Village Steam Page Updates, Hinting at Multiplayer Mode
The PC Steam page for Resident Evil Village has updated that indicates that the game might feature a multiplayer mode (thanks BHD).
When it was revealed last week that Resident Evil Village will be getting a 30-minute showcase event (this week), there were also sign-ups for a Resident Evil multiplayer beta.
It was assumed that this multiplayer beta might be a standalone experience, similar to that of Resident Evil: Resistance with the Resident Evil 3 remake.
However the update on the Steam page possibly hints that a multiplayer mode will be bundled in with RE Village. Personally I’m hoping that the beta will be for a standalone game away from RE Village.
The multiplayer beta will support 4 to 6 players, so it could be a revamped Resistance upping the player count and modes. The optimist in me hopes that the beta will for Outbreak, however it’s likely to be neither of those things.
If a multiplayer mode will be included in Village and it is a separate thing from the beta, I really hope the multiplayer that the Steam page is referring to is for a new Mercenaries mode.
The Resident Evil showcase will take place next week on Thursday, January 21st at 10pm UK time/2pm PT/5pm ET.
