It looks like The Walking Dead might be getting more video games, but should we be cautious?

Other than Telltale’s The Walking Dead and the Saints and Sinners VR games, the Skybound Entertainment IP hasn’t had the best of times. Fans of the undead series have had to make do with the likes of The Walking Dead: Survival Instincts and more recently, The Walking Dead: Destinies.

However, Silent Hill 2 remake developers Bloober Team has now teamed up with Skybound Entertainment. It’s not yet known what IP Bloober Team will cover, and it might not be The Walking Dead related, only time will tell. According to a recent press release from Bloober Team, the announced project is codenamed “R”.

As a fan of The Walking Dead, it’s probably safe not to get excited. After all, despite developing some decent games, I think it’s fair to say that Bloober Team is yet to realise its potential if it will ever reach it. A good measuring stick will be when the Silent Hill 2 remake releases.

No release date has been announced for the Silent Hill 2 remake, but it is expected to be released in 2024 for PC and PlayStation 5.
