TMNT fans rejoice because Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin has finally been officially announced to the world.

We first heard rumblings of a new and mature TMNT game inspired by Santa Monica’s God of War back in March 2023. It was reported back then that the upcoming TMNT game would be based on the mature comic book series published by IDW, and from the creative minds of Kevin Eastman, Tom Waltz, Ben Bishop, Edgar Delgado, and the Escorza Brothers.

In The Last Ronin, all the turtle brothers as well as Master Splinter are dead. Only Michelangelo and the new leader of the Foot Clan remain, the grandson of Master Shredder, Oroku Hiroto in New York City.

Officially, we don’t know anything about the upcoming video game adaptation, but it’s safe to assume that at least on a basic level, most of what is written above is true. If so, this will be a treat for TMNT fans that want a taste of a more gritty story of its universe.

At the time of writing, no release date has been announced for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, but it will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
