The Pathless Gets New #StateofPlay Gameplay Video

The Pathless has gotten a brand new gameplay overview during Sony’s recent State of Play, that showcases some of the unique aspects of its open-world gameplay and how it manages to stand out amongst other open-world games.

The game seems to put more of a focus on Landmark design than giving players a map, as well as staying away from the generic gameover state. Also shown was how the protagonist’s bird played a vital role to the gameplay and its story.

 

What is still great to see is that the developers could have easily made a passive game based on this idea, which would have been still amazing seeing how they have made some of the most impactful passive games, but by deciding to include some really cinematic looking boss fights, it makes the game a lot more interesting in my opinion, and I can’t wait to see how they handle it.

The Pathless will be available for the Epic Store on PC, PS4 and PS5 later this year.
