According to recent reports, Ubisoft has yet another Prince of Persia game in development, which may come as a surprise to many.

Don’t get me wrong, the Prince of Persia franchise is fantastic and I love the fact that it’s getting so much attention today. However, it’s a big deal for any franchise to have reportedly games in development with another recently released.

The ‘Metroidvania’ Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was released in January this year and was an instant hit with critics and fans alike with a score of 86 and 8.6, respectively on the aggregate website, Metacritic. We also know that the troubled Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake is also in development. Now it seems that another ‘Metroidvania-inspired title is in the works according to an exclusive by Insider Gaming, and it’s being developed by Dead Cells studio, Evil Empire.

What’s more, the new game that is claimed to be released this year will be called The Rogue Prince of Persia. It’s also claimed that the game has been in development for around four years. What’s more, it is said that this “roguelite” title will receive a constant flow of content updates and will evolve depending on community feedback.

At this time, it’s stated that The Rogue Prince of Persia will initially be released on PC via Steam as an early-access title. No other platforms were mentioned in the report but it won’t be surprising if it were to later release on PlayStation, Xbox and/or Nintendo Switch.
