The release of WWE 2K24 is nearly upon us and to get ready for its big launch next month, 2K has released the first proper gameplay trailer that highlights some of the new (and returning match types).

In the trailer, we get a glimpse of the new Ambulance match as well as the Casket match, Special Guest Referee, the improved Backstage Brawls and much more. Oh and of course, it features a snippet of the β€˜2K Showcase…of the Immortals’ campaign which is all about 40 years of WrestleMania.

At the very end of the trailer, we see who is considered to be the greatest boxer of all time, none other than the late, great Muhammad Ali. In the main event of the first WrestleMania in 1985 at Madison Square Garden, New York, Muhammad Ali was the special guest referee (outside of the ring) for the main event of Hulk Hogan and Mr T vs Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper. Muhammad Ali will be a playable character in WWE 2K24, so it will be interesting to see how his unique style fits into the game.

In my hands-on preview of WWE 2K24 for GAMINGbible, I said: β€œIt wouldn’t be wise to go into WWE 2K24 expecting massive changes, but I’ve always believed when a game has reached a peak, all you need from that point onwards are small changes that make a positive impact, and that’s what WWE 2K24 seems to achieve.”

WWE 2K24 will be released on 8 March for PC, PlayStation and Xbox or 5 March for those who pre-order the Deluxe or 40 Years of WrestleMania Editions.
