CMON the creators of board games such as Marvel United, Bloodborne (miniature and card games) and God of War: The Card Game, are working with Sony once again to bring us The Last of Us board game.  It was only the other week when I was saying to my wife that I would love a board game adaptation of the Naughty Dog series, so it seems that I am getting my wish.

No details were given on the gameplay mechanics, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the board game would take inspiration with the multiplayer of the first The Last of Us known as Factions, where you would work with other players to not only wipe out the enemy, but you’d also work together to gather valuable resources in order to survive.  So if I was going to take a guess, I’d say this game can be played solo or co-op, you’d play one of the various scenarios to get from point A to point B, gather resources, manage your resources and weapons, then you’ll have human enemies and of course the various forms of Clickers thrown into the mix.

Geoff Skinner, VP of Entertainment and Head of Licensing at CMON said  The Last of Us is “a narrative experience we wanted to bring to the board gaming table,” and he added “we are eager to adapt the stirring character-driven player experience to tabletop, letting fans explore the world and story in a entirely new way.

We don’t have a release date for The Last of Us board game as of yet, but I’d expect it to launch as a Kickstarter campaign later this year and once we get further news, we’ll update you right away.  Are you excited at the prospect of playing The Last of Us as a tabletop game?  Let us know across our social media channels.
