Disgaea 5 Officially Announced For North America & Europe

The Disgaea franchise has been going for over 11 years now and has become something of a cult hit. When the 6th game in the main series, Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance, was announced at the Tokyo Game Show this year most expected it would see a Western release and now it has officially been announced. Unfortunately though we Westerners will have to wait slightly longer than our friends in the East to get our hands on the game as it won’t be out at the end of March 2015, but in Autumn/Fall 2015.

Disgaea 5 is coming exclusively to the Playstation 4 which may upset some Playstation 3 and PS Vita owners, but the developers, Nippon Ichi, have stated that what they want to achieve can only be done on the more powerful machine. In Disgaea 5 you control Killia, a young male demon, and his team of rebels as they seek vengeance against the new Overlord looking to enslave the Netherworlds, Void Dark. It will deliver the same hilarious writing that the series has become known for and promises over the top screen filling battles, new systems and much, much more. With various RPGs due out in 2015, hopefully Disgaea 5 doesn’t get lost in the noise, but with a loyal fanbase at its side and a unique style, it is unlikely it will.
