Chelsea and England star Tammy Abraham surprised a school pupil with a message following a competition win on Instagram.

The competition in question is for the PlayStation F.C Schools Cup with the winning kit design to be an unlockable item in FIFA 21 (PlayStation only).  Manchester-based pupil Lucas Miley was the lucky competition winner and was greeted with a surprise message from the English football star.

To win the competition, members of the public would vote via the PlayStation F.C Schools’ Cup Instagram and Facebook channels.

The competition is part of the PlayStation F.C Schools’ Cup initiative which aims to encourage more children into grassroots football across the UK.  For more information on the initiative, you can visit the official PlayStation F.C Schools’ Cup website here.

Tammy Abraham said: “I’m passionate about supporting young football players so am really proud to be a PlayStation F.C. Schools’ Cup ambassador. The Kit Design Competition was an unbelievable opportunity to gain exposure to FIFA players, and I was honoured to be able to show Lucas what the kit looked like in-game for the first time. It looks amazing, he is a very deserving winner! FIFA 21 players should definitely check out Lucas’s cool new kit in-game.”

Andrea Chilton, ESFA CEO, commented: The PlayStation F.C. Schools’ Cup is an activity that the ESFA is incredibly proud to produce each year in partnership with PlayStation UK. Lucas’ winning design was exceptional and beat off tough competition from the other 800+ entries received. The ESFA is delighted that the PlayStation F.C. Schools’ Cup inspired so many children to express their talents in this competition and look forward to future campaigns championing the same.

To have a kit that a school pupil has designed recreated to be in FIFA 21 is such a wonderful opportunity and we hope that Lucas and his school and his classmates are as impressed as we are. It is very refreshing to see such fantastic results from a campaign that really focuses on so many important elements of school-life, brought together by football.”

Warwick Light, Vice President, PlayStation UK, said, “Supporting young talent in the UK is something that’s incredibly important to us, so the PlayStation F.C. Schools’ Cup is an initiative we’re very proud of. As part of this, we wanted to give a football fan the chance to win the opportunity to get their kit design featured in FIFA 21. Lucas’s design definitely stood out to us and he is a very worthy winner – we hope FIFA 21 players enjoy the new kit as much as we do.”

From 13th April 2021 at 6pm until April 27th 5:59pm BST, FIFA 21* players can unlock Lucas’s winning kit design in FIFA 21 by completing the ‘PS Schools’ Cup’ Squad Building Challenge (SBC).
