Final Fantasy 16 ships 3 million copies, less than FF15

Final Fantasy XVI is the latest hit RPG from Square Enix and it’s been going down a treat with fans.

Recently, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XVI has shipped over 3 million units across physical and digital sales. Yet, it has sold less than Final Fantasy XV during its launch window, but it’s not as bad as it seems.

During its first week of launch, Final Fantasy XV sold five million units. However, FFXV launched on both PS4 and Xbox One, whereas FFXVI launched on just the PlayStation 5.

In my review for GAMINGbible, I said: “Final Fantasy XVI is one of 2023’s most brilliantly extravagant adventures and a sure-fire contender for Game of the Year.”
