The Grand Theft Auto 5 new-gen update arrives next week for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. While it’s not a free upgrade, it is at least cheap.
In the era of new-gen upgrades, some publishers will offer free upgrades for those that own the last-gen versions. Others may charge for that privilege. If you’re someone that already owns last-gen versions, while a free upgrade is always the best for us, the least we can hope for is a reasonably priced upgrade.
Pre-loading for GTAV and GTA Online on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S is now available.
Thankfully, that’s what we’re getting with GTA 5 on new-gen consoles. However, you’ll have to act fast to claim the discounted price. Between now and June 14th, if you already own the last-gen version of GTA 5, it will only cost you £8.75/$9.99 to upgrade. GTA Online will also be free as part of the GTA 5 bundle.
However, once June 14th arrives you will have to pay the price of £34.99/$39.99 for GTA 5 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Of course, GTA Online will also be bundled. You can also buy GTA Online as a standalone for £17.99/$19.99.
Having already owned GTA 5 on PS3 and PS4, I told myself that I won’t bother with the PS5 version. But for £8.75, I think I will.
Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 15.
