Playstation Now excited people when it was first announced. Then the beta occurred in North America and excitement quickly turned into bemusement as people realised there wasn’t a subscription model, but instead an old school style rental system (which featured some overpriced rentals to say the least). Now everyone can begin to get excited again as there is going to be a subscription model put in place, although it’s still only in North America for the time being, as no other regions have been detailed or announced.

Gamers will be able to choose from two subscription plans, one being a monthly fee of $19.99 and the other a three month subscription of $44.99, which works out at just under $15 per month. That all sounds fairly reasonable and if the service can add some more top quality games to the 100+ PS3 titles already included, as well as some classics from older generations, it could be definite investment. It’s unlikely however these extra titles will appear before Playstation Now goes live in North America later this month on PS4. It is also not yet known when the service will roll out to other Playstation devices, but as always we’ll keep you updated.
