As with console generations of yesteryear, Sony is always looking at ways to improve the PlayStation 5 updates with a regular release of system updates since the consoles launch in 2020.

The highlights of the latest system update which is currently in its beta phase for testing allow you to switch off the turn on/off console beep. It will also allow Tempest 3D Audio for compatible Dolby Atmos-enabled HDMI devices such as soundbars as well as TVs and home theatre systems.

What’s more, the PS5 will also be compatible with up to 8TB M.2 SSDs. You can read up on further details via the PlayStation Blog, which also explains new accessibility features.

The update should roll out for everyone in the next month or so when any reported issues have been ironed out.
