Red Dead Redemption gets surprise 60fps update

The original Red Dead Redemption of 2010 is widely considered to be one of the best games of all time and so is its 2018 sequel.

So when the Red Dead Redemption port was recently announced for PlayStation 5/4 and Nintendo Switch, it should have been a time of jubilation. Sadly, this was no remaster, but just a mere port. The only benefit was a 4K resolution on a compatible console with the framerate only being at 30fps.

Thankfully, however, at least for the PlayStation 5 version, Rockstar Games has released a surprise patch that boosts the framerate to 60fps with the option being available in the menu. At the time of writing, there is no word whether the PS4 and Nintendo Switch ports will receive the same treatment or the Xbox Series X|S backwards compatible version.

Red Dead Redemption is out now on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
