Here’s the Premiere Cinematic Trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Will be Cross-Gen

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla was officially revealed to the world with a glorious cinematic trailer.  Granted the trailer featured no gameplay as expected, with it being a cinematic and all, but it certainly helped nail down the vibe and the setting as to what to expect with it releases later this year.

The trailer featured Viking ships, pillaged villages, blood, fire and brutality.  The plot of the story will revolve around the Scandinavian Vikings battling against the English in the 19th century AD during England’s Dark Ages.  It also had a Game of Thrones vibe, at least in my opinion and we saw the male version of the protagonist known as Eivor who ended the trailer fighting against a man that resembled “The Mountain” from Game of Thrones, before killing him with the legendary Hidden Blade.

In the game, you will lead Evior’s clan and sail the seas to spread your dominance across the kingdoms.  You will encounter the Saxon resistance with King Aelfred of Wessex, as they aim to eradicate the honour of Valhalla, so that the Viking way can bend the knee to a more “civilised England”.

Like Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, you will get to choose to play as either a male or female protagonist and there will be a wealth of customisable features from outfits, gear, weapons, hair, tattoos, war paint and more.  Also similar to Odyssey, the choices you make in the game will have an impact on your story, such as political alliances, combat and dialogue choices, all in the name of protecting your family and clan.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is developed by the teams that brought us Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed: Origins at Ubisoft Montreal.  It has also been revealed that those who pre-order the game, will receive an addition mission “The Way of the Berserker”, which is said to bring players to join the “legendary Norse Berserker on his quest for revenge.

Finally, Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will be a cross-gen title and will release this fall for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox One Series X and Google Stadia.  You can check out what editions and collectibles will be available at launch here.
