According to new rumours, a new Resident Evil game is already in development and is expected to release on next-gen consoles.  However, the rumours suggest that this new game will be “the biggest departure the series has ever taken.

It is said that this rumoured Resident Evil game will not be another remake and is expected to be a controversial release that the source believes that “a lot of people will be pissed off about it when it’s revealed.”  However, the source of the rumours “AestheticGamer” has asked fans to be open-mined as it’s a “high quality game.

AestheticGamer also states that the development of the game which began in 2016 is “very similar” to the original development of Resident Evil 3, but not in terms of the remake and he added “I won’t expand on what I mean by that until later”.  He also claims that an official announcement will be made “really soon”.

What is this new Resident Evil game meant to be?  Is it Resident Evil 8?  But then if it’s a controversial departure from the series, is it something outside of the box, perhaps an MMO?  If it was a new Outbreak game, I can’t imagine many fans being annoyed about that.  So let’s get speculating across our social media channels.  Heck, at least it won’t be a pachinko machine, right?
