It has been announced that Star Wars Squadron’s will be getting DLC after all and it includes Baby Yoda!

Earlier this month when speaking to UploadVR, creative director of Star Wars Squadrons at EA’s Motive Studio, Ian Frazier stated that the game will not be getting any DLC.  However, that no longer seems to be the case.

Releasing ahead of season two of The Mandalorian this week on Disney Plus, the Star Wars Squadrons DLC will be added via a free update and its contents will be earned in-game.

The fact that this DLC is free and is earned in-game, despite stating that Star Wars Squadrons will not be getting any DLC, it sticks to the “old-school approach” in a way that Frazier spoke of during that interview, at least in-terms of unlocking cosmetics.

I know people will try to call EA out for going back on their word, but this is free DLC, it’s not monetisation, so you’ll get no complaints from me.  So EA, please keep the free content coming, because this is the way.

Launching in-time of season two this Friday on October 30th, the free DLC includes a Baby Yoda aka “The Child”, a IG-11 Bounty Hunter Droid and The Mandalorian’s ship, the Razor Crest is cockpit decorations.  We’ll also get a dashboard flair, a flair inspired by season one, a hologram and a decal.
